During the second semester, within the framework of the Landscape Planning project, the semester-long design task examines the various scales of landscape design - the relationships between territorial and urban landscapes, the role of territorial planning processes, rehabilitation, regeneration, and renaturalization, aiming accordingly to formulate theoretical, organizational, and construction proposals.
The design site is a relatively densely built area in the heart of Tîrgu-Mureș, focusing on a part of the Tudor quarter, specifically the area around Super and Dacia, with the aim of creating an eco-zone during the process. This area still largely bears the imprints of socialism and post-socialism.
In the first, preparatory phase of the practice, an examination of the designated design site will take place at a large scale, at the level of the municipality, as well as at a smaller scale at the level of neighborhood analysis. This part will be concluded by summarizing the conclusions and results, which will then serve as the basis for proposing intervention methods and suggestions for the given area.
In the second phase, the sub-task will be to become acquainted with the general phenomenon of eco-zones/eco-cities, through the study of precedents and similar situations, identifying rehabilitation interventions, processing case studies, and presenting them (20-30 minutes/team).
In the third design phase, the general planning concept of the neighborhood, the given area, will be elaborated, searching for concrete intervention proposals and solutions (pavements, playground designs, water drainage/water retention, support for biodiversity, plant suggestions, etc.).
In the final, fourth phase, the final posters will be edited, summarizing the drawn and written parts prepared within the framework of the practices of Urbanism, Landscape Representation, and Urban Networks.
